Fox News has been one of the biggest proponents of forcing the LA Times to release a tape that supposedly has Barack Obama at a celebration for Rashid Khalidi, an apparent Palestinian supporter. But at one point Fox News actually argees with Khalidi:
The first part of the video is the usual attack an person and when they run away bash them, but the second part is a speech Khalidi gave in 1998, one year after Obama gained office in Illnois. Khalidi claims that corruption in the politics and the shady back door deals in places like Chicago, are the things that mess up US foreign policy. So in one segment Fox News has gone from attacking Khalidi and using him to scare the viewers, to embracing his views because it implies Obama was elected not by the people but by corrupt leaders and businesses.
All Sean Hannity has done with this segment is to prove that Fox News doesn’t care what Khalidi thinks or does, instead he is simply another pawn in their chess match to elect McCain and Palin, whatever view helps in that goal is what they use. Rashid Khalidi, Bill Ayers, Socialism, are all just vain attempts to remind people that Obama isn’t the same old white male.

My Tulsa World wasn’t at the back door this morning so I grabbed a copy of the Wall Street Journal, and was surprised to see an editorial that all but kills the republican attacks on Barack Obama for his relationship to Bill Ayers.
The editorial was by Thomas Frank and details how even those people formerly wanted by the FBI can become people worthy of holding as friends.
Bill’s got lots of friends, and that’s because he is today a dedicated servant of those less fortunate than himself; because he is unfailingly generous to people who ask for his help; and because he is kind and affable and even humble. Moral qualities which, by the way, were celebrated boisterously on day one of the GOP convention in September.
He volunteers for everything. He may once have been wanted by the FBI, but in the intervening years the man has become such a good citizen he ought to be an honorary Eagle Scout.
The McCain campaign has made much of its leader’s honor and bravery, but now it has chosen to mount its greatest attack against a man who poses no conceivable threat to the country, who has nothing to do with this year’s issues, and who cannot or will not defend himself. Apparently this makes him an irresistible target.

The Obama camp has come out with a “documentary” on the Keating Five, in which Five senators were accused of improperly intervening in 1987 on behalf of Charles H. Keating, Jr., chairman of the Lincoln Savings and Loan Association.
The McCain camp has claimed Obama is dredging up stuff from the past that doesn’t matter. Wrong. The Keating Five all but parallels the issues we face today. A corrupt bank leader ends up defrauding thousands of people. Today we have corrupt banks lying about their books and defrauding stock holders out of trillions of dollars. John McCain has billed his career in Washington as a maverick. When the Obama campaign attempts to show this is a lie and McCain was basically bribed to support deregulation measures that lead to this current crisis, he attempts to downplay it, instead going after non-existent issues of Obama’s connections to Bill Ayers and Reverend Wright.
Mr. McCain you are no maverick, you aren’t the white knight who will save the economy and the country. You’re just as sleazy and dishonest as the likes of Ted Stevens.
